PAT Testing & Electricals
Reduce the risk of fire with our PAT testing services
In order to comply with the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety Order) 2005, companies and commercial industries have to take responsibility for preventing fires within the property and reducing the risk of fires and serious electrical accidents.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is instructed by the Electricity Works Act Regulation 4 (2). This involves the regular inspection of electrical appliances. The testing includes a visual inspection, which is one of the most important to ensure the appliance is not damaged, but also inspected by a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) meter. The meter determines the appliance is electrically safe by checking its earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity of wiring. The checks are to be carried out by authorised professionals and are designed to show whether or not the appliance is safe to use within a commercial setting.
